Environment

WWL ALS Nederland BV has held the ISO1 14001:2015 accreditation in relation to freight forwarding of exceptional and other loads since 2006.

ALS is fully compliant with all mandatory site instructions regarding environmental considerations (ISO 14001) and shall instruct their sub contractors accordingly.

ALS takes into account local and international laws. ALS shall also take positive measures, as may be appropriate to avoid or reduce pollution or environmental impact of all actions within the scope of services required.

Environmental Policy Statement

ALS commenced operations more than 40 years ago, specialising in the forwarding and transportation of abnormal loads.

ALS' management and employees are continually appraising the options available for the handling, lifting and transportation of all types of cargo. As a company ALS ensures that environmental issues are given due and just consideration when considering these options.

ALS utilises the most direct routes when transporting loads to ports for onward shipment. Export loads are preferably shipped via the nearest geographical port, thereby minimising the distance and time spent on road movements and the consequential impact on the environment.

As a company we are constantly assessing alternative options to road transport with, for example, rail and barge options being utilised for intra-European movements where circumstances permit.

As part of its quality policy, ALS monitors and audits its suppliers. ALS seeks to use only those companies which have an active and effective environmental policy and a positive attitude towards environmental issues. Hauliers are assessed on their own policies concerning driver training and awareness, vehicle replacement, and consideration towards environmental matters.

ALS uses the services of major shipping companies and these companies have their own environmental policies (copies of which can be supplied on request).

ALS will continue to review and improve the services that it offers to its clients and will continue to do so with due consideration and awareness of environmental issues and concerns.

ALS will achieve continuous improvement of our environmental management system, which is based upon the requirements of ISO 14001, to enhance environmental performance.
