19th May 2012

ALS (International) Limited provided specialist solutions to remove 4 x CO2 storage tanks 25.3 x 4.55 x 4.55m from load point due to road & dock restrictions.

A senior project manager from ALS (International) Limited in Hull, UK Project Team managed the lifting, loading, transport and discharge of the cargo in Sweden and Norway for the duration of the project, which took 1.5 weeks from dismantling to delivery.

ALS' Project team also arranged pre ops quay and waterway/ navigation inspections due to the limited waterways access involved.

Types of specialist equipment used were a Liebherr LTM1500 Crane with tailing crane, Scheuerle 2 X 6 AXLE SPMT with Spacers and specialist ro/ro Ship MV Aura.

The cargo was transported by road & sea after lifting from foundation, top & tailing, and fitting of specialist transport cradles had been arranged.

These tanks with a net cargo value of: Euro 1.5 million are to be reused in new CO2 facility at Yara's main facility in Porsgrunn.

ALS' Client commented, " I am pleased to hear you have managed the uncertainties in a professional manner."
