Moving Transformers To Russia
Multimodal movement of 5 heavy transformers, total weight 117 tons from Germany to Russia

In November 2021 ALS' German team successfully completed transportation of 5 transformers (trafos) with a total weight of 117 tons along with spare parts from Germany to St. Petersburg, Russia.
Due to the critical height of the trafos up to 460 cm, ALS prepared an individual solution for the shortest inland part using low beds to the nearest river port, transshipment by mobile crane and barge transportation to POI, Antwerp.
Scope of works included road survey, civil works on the route, additional convoy and police escort, as well as a “window” on Germany railway.
