Oversized tank moved to Slovenia

After several months of planning, including necessary route surveys and adjustments to trailer combinations, ALS Deutschland GmbH and ALS Moerdijk, Netherlands have successfully transported an oversized tank.

The vessel with dimensions of 23 metres long x 4.15 metres wide and 4.31 metres high with a weight of 66 Tonnes was moved by road from Slovakia to Slovenia.

Due to having no close proximity to inland waterways at the point of loading and point of delivery road transport was the only viable solution.

Extensive preparations were necessary at the loading and delivery points to enable transportation to take place. This included traffic arrangements, removal of street furniture, the dismantling of sound proof walls and various ground work.

It was also challenging to ensure a smooth process at final delivery point due to limited space for the two mobile cranes offloading the cargo at its final destination.

The 200,000 litre tank will be used in a steel mill.
